To support my ongoing secondary interest of telling the stories of design and designers, I cover design trends in the Bay Area in San Francisco magazine's "By Design" column.

The writings for SF have allowed me to broaden my design scope to include industrial designers and their design processes. While I believe the same basic process of "Observe and Iterate" exists throughout the entire discipline of Design, it's instructive to me to see the slight variations in the design philosophies across disiplines.
